Here’s a beautiful picture that exemplifies Missoula. Rough, old-school industrial, mountainous and wild. Chris Lombardi takes some wonderful shots.

KPAX is reporting that progressive talk radio is on tap for Missoula in the new year. Their story says that they don’t know what station it’ll be on, but that the new format will be unveiled next week. I wonder if this will be a result of the efforts of Missoula Community Radio, the group formed after local progressive talk radio station KKNS shut down in March of 2006 following only six months on the air.

Here’s hoping for the return of a full-fledged, full-time progressive station!

Update: New West is reporting that KLCY will be converting to “KMPT, Missoula’s progressive talk.”

Update2: A commenter suggests that there is no connection to Missoula Community Radio. As the New West article mentions, this is a Dave Cowan project. Dave was involved with short-lived KKNS.

After a long absence, I’m back. For those of you who didn’t even know I was gone, I can’t say that I blame you. I wasn’t around that long before disappearing.

The reasons for the my disappearance are various, but suffice it to say that I felt the need to re-think the focus of this blog. You’ll see a very different Missoula dot Net than the one you may have been familiar with. However, there will most certainly be some overlap with the old subject matter.

I’m glad that I could be lucky enough to pick such a beautiful snowy late-fall day as this to resurrect the site. As always, an endeavor such as this is a work in progress. I invite you, the reader, to join in on the fun by commenting.
